Advocacy Task Group

Champion the relationship with local elected officials by keeping them informed of Girl Scout issues and programs. Provide invitations to special events.

Ad hoc Annual Meeting Committee

Task group includes select delegates and board members, who work with the Board Chair to plan the next annual meeting.

Audit Committee

Responsible for hiring, setting compensation and overseeing the auditor’s activities. Sets rules and processes for complaints concerning accounting and internal control practices.

Board Development Committee

Represent the board of directors on committee to solicit and recruit candidates for elected positions on the board of directors and the board development committee. Develop materials for orientation, education and development of board and implement new board training.

Bylaws Task Group

Review current Bylaws for needed changes. Present first draft at November Board /Delegate meeting for discussion. Present final draft at Annual Meeting.

Finance Committee

Assist board by making recommendations regarding sound fiscal management of the corporation. Six regular meetings, with possible special meetings. Assist the Board in assessing the financial position of the Corporation and in making decisions regarding financing needs and alternatives as well as in making major strategic investment decisions.

Fund Development Committee

Support development and implementation of the GSNWGL fund development plan including annual solicitation campaign, major gifts campaign, bequest and endowment planning, donor recognition and cultivation, and special events. Develop strategies for greater Board enthusiasm and support for fund development in order to grow database and expand individual giving.

Investment Committee

Provides oversight and management of long term council investments. Oversees relationship with banks or investment firms, makes recommendations to the board on investment policies.

Ad hoc Policy Review Committee

Review council policies in training, fund development, troop management, program, and camp and recommend changes, using input from delegates, volunteers and staff members.

Ad hoc Property Committee

Duties include oversight and guidance of the Strategic Choices determined by the Long Range Property Planning Committee including prioritizing projects, hiring realty firm, determining steps necessary to list property, negotiating sale of property, reporting back to Board.
