At the ad hoc property committee meeting on September 19, 2013 the committee--made up of GSNWGL volunteers and staff--recommended breaking ground on the current proposed property projects in the spring of 2014 instead of fall 2013 as originally planned.

There were several reasons for the adjustment to the timeline.  A program vision refresh is in progress, and it is important that the program vision is aligned with our development plans.  Additionally, not all of the project plans are complete at this time.  By waiting until all plans are completed, we can bundle and submit them as a whole, enabling us to leverage pricing for potential cost savings. Additional advantages to the spring timeline include avoiding potential weather-related delays and expenses caused by impending winter weather, and additional time to secure in-kind donations for the projects.

Planned Projects Spring 2014 Include:

Birch Trails - Showerhouse, update archery equipment

Cuesta - Low ropes, bouldering wall

Nawakwa - Update low ropes, Update archery equipment

Pow Low - Showerhouse, lodge remodel, low ropes, archery

Sacajawea - Low ropes, update archery equipment

Winnecomac - Update archery equipment

As details become available, the committee will share them in the Connect volunteer e-newsletter and on our Volunteer Connect website.  Questions about the projects or timing should be directed to meetinggirlsneeds@gsnwgl.org.
